Jane Terry is Professor Emerita of Art at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC where she taught for 25 years. She received her MFA in photography from Tyler School of Art, Temple University and her BFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Terry is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including a grant from the Peter and Madeleine Martin Foundation for the Creative Arts, an artist residency at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, CO and a grant from Tree of Life Foundation in support of her film Stations. She has exhibited widely at regional and national venues including Luise Ross Gallery, New York, NY; Louis K. Meisel Gallery, New York, NY; the San Francisco Art Institute, CA; Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art, FL; North Carolina Museum of Art; and Wake Forest University Fine Arts Gallery. Her work has been screened at three international Annual Dallas Video Fest events, Laguna Film Festival, New York City Independent Film Festival, and the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival. Terry’s work has appeared or been reviewed in publications such as Popular Photography and Imaging and American Photographer. She is represented in prominent private collections in San Francisco and Minneapolis.
